Artifact 1 - EEND677

This is a narrative describing my experience creating a screencast.  I am learning about using multimedia tools in a cohort I am participating in to gain an endorsement in Educational Technology.

Creating a screencast was an assignment in module 7 of EEND 677.  I used powerpoint to set up the the presentation, Smart Notebook to set up the images, and screencast-o-matic to record the screencast.  It was fun to set up the slides for the screencast.  Although, I plan on using other platforms for future screencasts.  I am looking forward to creating more screencasts to help explain to my students how to follow steps to strategies in math.  There are many capabilities this tool has to offer.  It can be used to provide explanation to students when I am not able to meet with a class due to a meeting, to create a flipped classroom, or to use as a reference tool for students to refer back to while working on assignments.
The difficulty I had was with the pacing of the screencast.  It is tricky to pace yourself when you are speaking so the viewer is able to keep up with the presentation.
