This is a reflection of an assignment I completed in module 2 of Assessing and Improving Student Achievement with Technology. The assignment was to create an infographic comparing two differents types of assessments. I have seen infographics before; although, I just thought they were aq creative way to display the information. I found out that Infographics can be used within the classroom for many different purposes; such as comparing two different characters, comparing two different books, or listing the pros and cons for an opinion paper. The two assessment platforms I chose were Goformative and Triventy. Both are new to me. Triventy is similar to Kahoot and Goformative is not similar to anything I have used before with students.
I used Piktochart to create my Infographic. To use the free version, you are limited to the amount of templates; however, there are many templates to choose from. I liked being able to change the colors in order to make the infographic more visually appealing. After becoming familiar with piktochart, I was able to add text in the text boxes and create a couple of graphics.
An area that I did not care for was font size. I had a very difficult time manipulating the text boxes and being able to make the font larger. Also, I had some difficulty with manipulating the wording in the text bubbles.
I look forward to incorporating this with my students as a way to compare and contrast two different characters.
