EEND678 Artifact 2

This is a narrative describing my experience writing a grant. Within this course (EEND 678- Effective Technology Integration into Lessons and Curriculum) I am learning how to incorporate the technology tools into the lessons I am teaching and this involves resources that can be expensive. Teachers put their own money into providing students the necessary tools to aid in their being successful learners. This may be anywhere from school supplies to furniture to technology. To help with finances many teachers look towards funding through grants.

I am participating in this cohort in to gain an endorsement in Educational Technology.

Writing a grant was part of module 6. This was very new to me. I have heard of grants; however, I never wrote an application for a grant. I wrote a grant for flexible seating for the students I work with.

The positives of writing grants is that I can fund resources for my students and still pay my mortgage. I am excited and hopeful for the funding to be able to supply my students with seating that will encourage learning through movement.

The challenges were in finding grants for flexible seating. I used “Donarschoose.org” to gain funding for the modern ball chair with arms. The steps were very clear; although, the character space was limited.
