Writing Unit plans and lessons are part of teaching. One subject I teach is writing and we are working on opinion with a counterclaim. I chose this to do my unit plan on because I am always striving to become a better teacher and this is an area I want to get better at.
The students used Google Drawing to create a Pros and Cons chart. Then they used graphic organizers to create their rough draft. They used websites that have been vetted by the district. The students use Google Docs to write their paragraphs. along with graphic organizers. By completing this assignment, I was able to brainstorm additional ways I can incorporate technology for both instruction and for differentiation. In the future, I would like to find a way to make the background of a google doc the graphic organizer. I am able to do this with slides. The students use text boxes to add their text in the appropriate places.
The students are excited to be researching their topic and using the technology to complete their assignment.
